CLEVELAND, Aug. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The "Wings+Wheels: Crawford Memories in Motion" exhibit sponsored by the 2008 Cleveland Auto Show presented by AutoTrader.com celebrates the legacy of Cleveland-industrialist Frederick C. Crawford (1891-1994) and the 140th anniversary of the Western Reserve Historical Society (1867-2007). The new exhibit opens Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007. Visitors will experience new, exquisite galleries, educational and interactive displays highlighting cars, motorcycles, airplanes and artifacts -- and for the first time -- the Crawford collection will be enhanced by the exhibition of rare photographs and costumes from the Western Reserve Historical Society. A major highlight includes an interactive gallery dedicated to automotive-aviation entrepreneur and legend Frederick C. Crawford.
"The Wings and Wheels exhibit showcases the Western Reserve Historical Society collection in a way that has yet to be experienced," says Allan J. Unrein, Crawford Museum director. "What makes this exhibit truly unique is the public will choose the items that will be displayed, and it will include written narratives in their own words why it was selected."
"The exhibit also highlights the legacy of the museum's namesake, Frederick C. Crawford, who was recognized worldwide for his leadership in the automotive and aviation industries," said Gary S. Adams, WRHS chairman.
